Omni is our academic search tool. Search Omni for access to scholarly books, articles, and other material.

Saving Citations & Searches

You must be signed in to save items and to view your saved items.

To save something, "Pin" it to your "Favourites"

Omni uses a push-pin icon to save items.

 

To see your saved items, click the icon in the top left, beside your name.

Saving Citations

To save one item, click the push-pin icon at the top right of the item. This pins it to your favourites.

View your Favourite Records

Click the push-pin at the top right of your screen (beside your name) to see the items you've saved.

Your favourites list opens to show "Saved Records".

Options with Favourites

To the right of each citation, Cite, Email, Print, Permalink options are are offered. This is also where you "un-save" it.

Add Labels
  • Create your own labels to organize and search your favourites.
  • Below each item, click "Add Labels" to attach existing or new labels.
  • This allows you to search by label to see all items with that label, using the limiter in the right pane.
Sort
  • The right pane offers the option to change the order in which your favourites are listed.
  • Order them by:
    • date added,
    • author, or
    • title.
  • The default sort is with the most recently added on top.

Saving Searches (Queries)

To save a search, click "Save query", just under the search box.

Viewing your Saved Searches (Queries)

Click the push-pin at the top right of your screen (beside your name) to see the items you've saved.

 

Your favourites list opens to show "Saved Records" - click the tab at the top for "Saved Searches".

Your pinned searches are listed with the most recent on top.

Saved Searches Options

  • Click a search to perform it again, with updated results.
  • To the right of each items is a menu of icons:
    • Set an Alert by clicking the bell icon. This tells Omni to automatically run the search weekly and email you any new items found.
    • Set an RSS feed. (Only use this if your already familiar with RSS feeds.)
    • Remove the saved search by un-pinning it.
