Peer-reviewed, Online, Print Items, Publication Date

Any time you perform a search on Omni, you will have access to a variety of filters that allow you to further narrow down your search results. Each of these filters serve different purposes, and you are encouraged to experiment with them to learn more about their functionalities. 

In this section, we will highlight just a few of the most used filters, and what their function is.

  • Available Online - Selecting this option limits results to those that are available in an online format 
  • Peer-reviewed Journals - Selecting this option limits results to published research articles that have gone through the peer-review process
  • Trent Library Print & Physical Items - Selecting this option limits results to items that are available in physical format at either the Bata Library or the Durham Library & Learning Centre
  • Publication Date - You can change the dates under "Publication Date" to look for items that are published during a specific time frame

Favourites, Permalinks, Citations

Omni allows you to easily save items to your favourites list, share reliable permalinks, and export results to common citation formats like APA.

  • Resources you discover can be saved to your favourites list by clicking the pin icon 
  • Selecting the Citation icon allows you to export search results in common formats like APA
  • You can export to bibtext, RIS, Endnote and other bibliographic manager formats
  • You can email resources you discover to share
  • You can print results
