Adobe Lightroom Classic is designed for photographers to manage, edit, and enhance their photographs with tools for color correction, cropping, and fine-tuning details. It offers many editing capabilities and seamless integration with Adobe Photoshop, making it a preferred choice for organizing and refining photography workflows.

How To Create A New Project

1. Open Adobe Lightroom Classic:

Launch Adobe Lightroom Classic by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.

Alternatively, you can select it from within the Adobe Creative Cloud hub.

2. Import Your Photos:

  • In the Library tab, click the “Import” button in the bottom left on the menu.

    • Select the folder containing the photo(s) you would like to edit.

    • Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file into the menu to import it.

  • Users can also import projects from Adobe Photoshop using the File > Import a Photoshop Elements catalog.

3. Edit Your Photos

The Develop tab will show all of the basic and advanced photo editing tools.

  • See the list of tools along the righthand for descriptions and examples.

How To Export A Project

1. Export Your Photos:

Lightroom Classic will automatically save your work

  • Use File > Export, or alternative the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + E
  • You will be able to select the export location on your computer.
    • Alternatively, you can export to an email address.

You are also able to:

  • Edit the image format (.jpeg, .png, etc).
  • Add a watermark to your photo.

2. Edit in Adobe Photoshop:

To edit in Adobe Photoshop:

  • Right-click your photo within the Develop tab
  • Select Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop

This will prompt you with the options to:

  • Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments
  • Edit a copy (no adjustments)
  • Edit the original photo

Clicking "Edit" will then launch Adobe Photoshop
