About the Data Visualization Lab

Purpose

The Data Visualization Lab in Peterborough and the Data Visualization Workstation in Durham are part of the Moore Innovation Hub and are managed by Trent Library Maps, Data & Government Information Centre (MaDGIC). These resources are available for use by registered members of Trent University who require access to spatial and statistical technologies for research or coursework. 

MaDGIC uses the DV Lab to offer virtual and in-person support and instruction related to: 

  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Data and spatial literacy
  • Esri ArcGIS accounts
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Research data management


Lab Access - Symons Campus

  • Location: Bata Library Rm 402
  • Number of workstations: 11
  • Drop-in lab use and support appointments are available during MaDGIC office hours
  • Evening and weekend access options are available subject to approval from MaDGIC
