Welcome to the Library Guide for Education

In this guide you'll find information about, and links to, important resources for Education. On this page there's information, tutorials, and links to resources.

Most of your resources can be found using Omni, our library search tool. A brief video below explains how Omni works, and you can also see the full Omni Guide. However, more specialized resources may be needed, depending on what you're looking for. In this case, use the menu on the left to select a specific type of information you want to find.

In Education there's a need for a variety of types of resources:

  • books cover general topics;
    • books about the theory and practice of education are usually found in our general collection or as an e-book;
    • books used by teachers in K-12 classrooms are usually in the Curriculum Collection on Bata Library's 3rd floor;
  • articles come in different types of publications:
    • scholarly journals cover research, studies, and theories about the discipline;
    • trade journals outline trends and news within industries;
    • newspapers cover current events and topics;
  • curriculum documents can be found online or in our MaDGIC (Maps, Data and Government Information Centre);
  • lesson plans can be found freely on the web.

Most education resources are available online, either by subscription at the Trent Library or freely available through a search engine like Google.

Use the menu links on the left to navigate the guide.
